The DV Murder of Michael Taylor

I have wondered at times if people who die in the early morning hours noticed the sunset, the stars,  or nature’s beauty the night before. I wondered that about Michael Taylor, a 39-year-old maintenance supervisor for Fogelman Management Group, in Memphis, Tennessee when I read of his early morning death.

Wednesday, December 23, 2009 Michael was shot twice, once in the heart and once about two inches behind the right ear, allegedly during an argument. When his wife, Pamela Taylor contacted police around 9 A.M., she advised a man had been shot in the chest. The police arrived to discover her husband deceased. They took Pamela to the station and charged her on Christmas Eve with second degree murder. On December 28, 2010, they arraigned Pamela via video.

In March of 2010 during a preliminary hearing in domestic violence court, the Judge amended the second degree murder to voluntary manslaughter charge. Pamela’s bond was set for 100000.00.

According to a nearby resident in the apartment complex the visit that fatal morning wasn’t the first time police units had been to the home. His comment has me wondering if domestic violence was an ongoing issue. I haven’t discovered anything concerning it-  if that was the reason for previous police presence at the Taylor home.

The DA’s Office sent the case to the grand jury and they indicted her on premeditated first-degree murder. Missy Branham, the state prosecutor, asked for a bond increase and more restrictions to be placed on Pamela. Apparently in a few short months she’d moved several times. Pamela’s lawyer, Andre Wharton, argued that his client had kept up with the bonding agent as ordered by court and wasn’t a flight risk. Wharton allegedly stated Pamela wants her story told. Criminal Court Judge Paula Skahan increased the bond to 150000.00. Pamela has to check in with court authorities three times per week and wear a GPS monitor.

This case has premeditation written all over it to me, the reason she made the decision to shoot her husband twice is a question only she can answer. But allegedly she purchased the gun the day before her husband was shot; he was shot twice, allegedly she had the gun in the sleeve of her sweatshirt and shot him. And too, I wonder why Pamela neglected to advise police that her husband had been shot in the head as well as the chest when she made the call that fateful morning.

  4. Maybe to some this was just another murder in Memphis but this was a kind and peaceful man who just wanted to raise his kids and live in peace. Now he is dead because some phyco women decided that if she couldn't have him no one eles would. Had this been a black woman or man who shot someone they would have been put behind bars until the trial date. This murderer has been walking our streets for nearly two years. Why don't they look at women as murders the same as they do men. She is clearly a murderer and she needs to be behind bars with the rest of them.

To me no murder is just another murder. And, I get frustrated reading comments under some articles related to killings that use the ho-hum attitude.

I'd read Pamela was bonded out by a bond company back in Dec of 2010. I don't like it either but I don't think it's a race thing. Many accused of murder bond out if they can get the funds needed. And I'd prefer they stay in jail too. However, all accused deserve a fair trial and bond is part of that process unless it's shown they are a danger to others or themself.

Pamela's case is still in the motions phase, no trial date has been set. But in nearly all cases after the arrest it takes 2 to 3 years before a trial date is set. *sigh* I admit too that I get impatient with the waiting for the victim's justice.

Do you see her around? Or is she basically at home? I don't know if she was required to wear a GPS monitor or not. If you hear anything connected to this case, feel free to comment about it. I have so many I'm watching that I'm often late with updates.

  6. Sadly, I dated Michael Taylor when I lived in Memphis. For some reason, I felt the need to try and see what his life was like now. When I discoved what had happened, my heart sank. He was one of the most gentle men I've ever met; both to myself and his 3 daughters.

I too have had the chance of meeting Pamela. Back then, she wasn't too keen on our relationship. She spent a great deal of time trying to "win" Mike back saying that he was her only love. That was something he was never interested in tough. Now that I see they got married, it makes me wonder why.

I'm saddned that his mother has lost her only 2 children in <5 years. I'm also saddened that his 3 daughters are now without a father; one of which was his and Pamela's child.

May the courts see the truth.

Sounds like the general consensus is that Michael was a good man. Sadly, it's usually the good ones (male and female) who are murdered. And so incredibly sad for the children anytime they lose a parent, especially under suspicious circumstances such as murder. And more so when they lose both.. for his and Pamela's daughter both parents are gone. She, most likely will be in prison for the rest of her life. The child can, through time, visit her though but she can never hear her father's laughter or see his smile again. And his children will never hear his laughter or see him smile. He can't be there when they have their first date, get married, have a child of their own. They will miss out on so much.

Thank you for the comment. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I do hope justice prevails for him.

  8. My son was the maintenance supervisor at The apartments that he was murdered at. When someone kicked in a door or broke into an apartment the police would come to his apartment and he would have to go with them to the apartment that had been broken into so if the police were at his house that is the reason. She did call the police on the day before she killed him the day she pawned her rings and bought the gun but the police fouund no evidence of domestic abuse on his part. He was trying to move some of his belongings to my house since he was leaving her and she did not want him to.She was arrested on Dec. 23 the day she murdered my son and was released from jail on christmas eve on a 100,000 bond which was a very low bond. My son had never been in any trouble with the police. After she was released from jail she went back to the apartment to the very bathroom that she murdered him in and took a shower.I have known Pam since she was 15 years old and I always knew how evil she was. She tried for years to get my son to go back with her and he never would. When there daughter was born he always supported her and we kept her often but he would not marry Pam . There is a reason that he married her and I am sure it will come out in court. There daughter lived at the apartment with them and she can tell you that her father was not a violent person. He was a very good man and my heart is so broken and I miss him so much.

  9. A trial date has been set for Sept. 19,2011 hopefully it will not be changed. It is very hearbreaking for the victims family to have to set thru court hearings each month and watch the murderer come to court as if she has done nothing wrong. She is wearing a gps monitor that is now being monitored by pretrial service and has a curfew she is to be in by 10pm and not suppose to leave until 6am. I still can not understand how a 1st degree murder charge can have only a 150,000 bond. Most that I have seen are up to 500,000.This person has taken a vacation to florida with a man not to many months after killing Mike.

  10. Micheal was a wonderful man, son, father, and person. For this to happen to someone who was such a peaceful and loving person is just awful. How is it that people go to jail for drugs and such and are there for months but somone can intentionally murder someone and they are out within hours. Our justice system just does not make sense. Micheals three daughters have to live their life knowing that they can't call on their daddy anymore and his mother has to deal with the pain of loosing her child. All of this because pamela is an evil person. His entire family hurts on a daily basis and not a day goes by that they arent affected by what pamela has done, all the while she gets to walk around and do as she pleases. Its just not fair. The facts are the facts and i think its time we get pamela and people like her off the streets.

  11. My name is Barbara and I am Michaels mothers best friend. I remember when she found out that Michael was leaving Pam we talked and she told me that she was so worried about him because she felt like Pam would kill him before she would let him leave her and that is exactly what she did.I have gone to court with her numerous times and seems like everything that is done to protect the right of the murderer and I am wondering what about the rights of the victims.

  12. I do know that they had to change the company that was monitoring the gps sytem because it was not being monitored properly and it is now monitored by pre trial services. I know that she now has a curfew she has to be home at 10pm until 6am. I do know that for the last 7 months she was suppose to be working and it was just revealed that she has not worked and was declared indigent and her pretrial services are being paid by a grant. As for her being a danger to herself or others I would think if you shot someone thru the heart and thru the head you were definetly a danger to others. Her bond is extremely low for someone indicted on 1st degree murder charges.I just saw in the commercial appeal where a young black lady shot her boyfriend and it did not kill him and hr bond was 200,000.

  13. In addition to Michael being a wonderful father, son, uncle, friend, and all around good person, he was also my brother. And after Jason passed away he was my ONLY brother. I won't tell you about how close we are because we really weren't seeing as he was 19 years older than I was. But that is not the point. The point is that I had two brothers, then I had one, and now I have none. And Pam is to blame for this. I will never get to truly know him. She knew the effect this would have. She knew our family had already lost Jason. She knew that Mike's nephew was growing up without a father and how very important Mike's role as his uncle was. She knew his children and the loss they would suffer. She knew the effect this was going to have on Brittany. She knew that Diane was already distraught over the loss of Jason and how this would make it so much worse. She knew that Mike and my dad spent hours on the phone watching sports together and laughing so loud I can't hear anything else. She knew he was the only brother I had left. And yet, she still took his life. THIS is why she is evil. She did not harm one person. What she did has effected HUNDREDS of people, and there are some that don't even know they are effected. Brittany, Cassidy, and Lainey will have children someday who will never know their grandfather. Audrey can only tell Kaydence stories about Michael instead of being about to meet him. My daughter will never know the joys of having uncles, like so many other kids do. Watching my mom and dad, as well as Diane and George deal with this has been the most painful thing I have ever had to witness. Nothing is going to take away the pain of losing him, but having her locked away far, far away from any of us and never having to hear her name, or see her face is about as close as any of us are going to get. She should not get to walk around free while my brother isn't walking anywhere. He was my dad's son and very best friend and you can see the loss in my dads eyes EVERY DAY. I will hate this woman for the rest of my life for doing this to my family.

    2. I think if he'd been in a rage as you suggested, evidence of that rage would have shown during his dental appointment. He left dentist office and drove home and was killed within a short time of arriving. I'm thinking within 10 to 20 minutes. Besides that, why would Pam have a gun hiden under the sleeve of her sweat shirt? Just in case? Not a rational reason.

    3. What if Pam had just let Michael leave and get the divorce as he wanted to then none of this would have happened. All I can say is that during the trial there was not one person on Pams side of the court room and that could be because she did not want them to see the evidence or crime scene pictures and testimonycause then they would have known she was lieing.None of the people that testified for Pam even knew Michael and they really did not know her only saw her at Britts ball games. One of the witnesses said Pam was a favorite mom among the kids wonder why none of them testified they are all 21 I also know some of the kids and they did not like her at all thought she was very weird. The detective said he was probably in the apartment approximately 6-7 minutes before she killed him hardly time for someone to get into a rage. I knew Michael better than anyone and I never saw him in a rage. I wondered why her mother and aunt never came in during the trial someone said that Wharton was going to call them for witnesses but for some unknown reason he didn't . Brittany told me that for her senior trip to florida her mother bought all the booze for them before they left Memphis and loaded it in the trunk of the car.Pam is and has always been a very evil, coniving and self centered person. I know that for 2 1/2 YEARS our life has changed drastically.Judge Skahan told Pam she was a person with many faces and that is so true she can act and be whomever she needs to be. .I do want to make it clear that Mike and Pam did not socialize with the people that testified for Pam.I am amazed that the man that she went to Florida with is coming to all the hearing since she has been convicted and sentenced and her mother said under oath he was just one of Pams employers.I can't begin to describe how much I hate her and her family. I have been around since the day Britt was born and I have to disagree with her witnesses that said she was a good mother even Brittanty told me she thought her mother was evil. The guy that testified about her job history owns a temporary nursing agency apparently no one checked the numerous other places she worked and was either fired or quit and was put down as a no rehire. Michael never even had a chance to take his coat and bogan off before she executed him. Diane

  14. Michael was such a sweet, gentle soul, who wouldn't hurt or harm anyone. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Except this one selfish, spiteful person. Who do you think you are Pam to wipe Michael off the face of the earth? I've been to court several times over the course of this, and I have seen no remorse, just you and your family being worried about your butt. I want you and your family to know, Diane is devastated, his children are heartbroken, his whole family is reeling from this and have been since 12/23/09. How could you do this to Brittany? Your own child. Put her in such a position as to know her father's life was taken by her mother? I had to call my brother, who is Michael's father and tell him over the phone that his only living son, Michael had been shot and killed by you! I will hear him screaming until the day I die. I get the feeling you are not sorry one bit, your just scared and worried about yourself. If there is any justice in this world you will get whats coming to you and I hope and pray it begins on September 19th.

I am so very sorry your son's life ended as it did. I have come to believe from reading all the comments here that he was a good man, a caring father and son/sibling. I do hope justice reigns for him at the trial. I understand now why a neighbor would comment that police units were at his apartment on occassion. (People assume since LE is there, the problem was there, sadly so)

You may have hit on the motive with his attempting to move out and move on, without Pam. I do personally believe the murder was premeditated and for that it should be a DP case. But LWOP is a good sentence also. Eventually she would be put into general prison population. I don't think that would be a pretty way to live out the rest of ones life.

Thank you so much for coming here and commenting. You've given me even more insight into Michael as a person. Again, my sincere condolences to you, his children and the family.

Thank you for the trial date information. I have to wonder if it's tentative. I know they have a disposition setting for August 26 but didn't know a date for trial had been set yet... could be it's pretrial stuff. But hopefully it is day jury is selected and trial starts soon afterward.

You are so right about it being heartbreaking for victim's family. Sadly, even if a guilty verdict is brought back by jury it's not over for the victim's family. Defendants have a gaggle of appeal processes in an attempt to get convictions overturned among other legal wrangling. And the hole in their heart is never closed. They will only have closure knowing the one responsible for their loved ones death is paying for the crime.

Thank you for the comment. I so appreciate all the thoughts of posters.

You are so right, our justice system has holes that need filling but I still think it is a good one and for the most part works. When someone is allowed the privilege of bond and bond out then they have that right. When Pamela was first arrested, IIRC she was charged with 2nd degree murder. Many charges are bondable as long as the accused isn't a flight risk or danger to others. So many first degree accused are walking free with gps monitors that it's unbelievable. I guess its a good thing in a way since tax payers aren't having to pay to keep her - although they may be paying for her defense.

What his children will have to go through with out him is unimaginable to me. All that can be done is to give them love and support and have patience with their questions.

Thank you for coming in and commenting. It's much appreciated.

I have often been frustrated with the fact that victim's seem to be forgotten during the court process. It's a sad fact. They don't seem to have any rights except justice for them being served when the accused is found guilty. Defense lawyers, and I understand they are required to give the best legal representation for their client they can, often use disparaging information about the victim during trials. It's disheartening for sure.

Just keep strong for your friend, you obviously are a special one, and know that people know the 'truth'. Nothing demeaning that may be said in court or done during the process of giving the accused a fair and just trial, would be believed by those who knew Michael. From all accounts I've read here, she isn't a good person in heart and never was deserving of him.

May justice favor the Victim and his family have strength during this process. It's never a pretty one. And the process is long and filled with thorns.

Thank you so much for commenting. So many here have praised Michael - I just know he is in Heaven and watching over his family now.

I have yays and nays with the GPS systems. Some of the companies that oversee them are understaffed and overworked so they can't possibly keep as close an eye on perpetrators as they should. You know one would think if she told the court she was working and months later they discovered it wasn't a truth then that'd be enough to pull her bond or at least up it considerably. *I sigh in frustration*

I know how the amount of bond just doesn't make sense in some cases. I don't exactly understand it all either. I could never find the ME's report on Michael's death anywhere. I had read he was shot once in heart and in the head (behind the ear?). But don't know which was the actual death wound.

I really wish news carriers would pick up this case more than they have. They pick and choose by way of what they feel will keep public reading and listening. It's all about rating, sadly. People become so use to opening the newspaper or tuning in to local news and hearing/reading of another killing or robbery that they become immune to it. But if news would do more reporting and following up on the cases then people would become angry and demand change. And demand that those who are responsible for keeping abreast and aware of those wearing GPS monitors activities be held liable.

Thank you for commenting. I hope you come back again and post with your opinions.

  20. We were told that both shots were fatal. The actual trial date has been set for Sept. 19 and we have a hearing on the 26th of august and we hear at this late date something about her lawyer wanting to get a psych eval. I pray that the trial will start on sept. 19.So much has changed in our lives and to have to continue on with going to court every month is so hard. The gentleman from the commercial appeal was there on the last court date and he has been very good at writting articles. I have found that when a man is murdered it doesn't get the attention as when a woman is murdered. You can't face thefacts on how a person looks actually she probably weighed almost as much as my son at the time she murdered him.Actually her mother made the statement that Pam was a sharp shooter that all her kids had been taught to be sharp shooters at an early age

I want to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of your brother. In truth, it doesn't matter if you spoke daily, once a month or once a year. Time isn't a factor in love or caring. I am sure, after reading the comments from friends and family here, that if you'd called and said I need your help, he'd have immediately agreed to do so. That's love. You are so right, Pam knew all the things you mentioned and more but apparently she had no caring in her heart for anyone but herself. Yes, I do believe killing Michael was a premeditated deliberate act of selfishness on her part. Sounds like she is a how dare you even consider leaving me- how dare you put others before me personality. Narcissistic.

And I agree, the backlash of Pam's actions is wider than just him and her, it effects so many many more people. Even more than his immediate family, children or her children and family.

Sadly although she will be likely locked away for years to come, it won't be over. You will hear her name because there will be many appeals to deal with. And, I shrug to consider it, if she is found guilty of some lesser degree then the family will have fighting her parole to deal with. All this is included with the backlash and that is horribly tragic for families of deceased. Her needs, her wishes will come first and foremost before the victim and/or his family. Makes me want to scream at times.

I am praying for a good strong jury that will look behind the dyed blond with excuses of being a victim sitting at the defense table and see truths of who and exactly what kind of person she really is.

Thank you so very very much for commenting on this piece. Feel free to come back and add more of your thoughts and opinions as the pretrial and trial goes forth, and afterward too.

I am so saddened for you and the entire family for the loss of your nephew. Yes. I know those screams of horror and my heart aches for Michael's father.

That you haven't seen remorse from the accused isn't surprising. It's a me thing with her. I am sure she is scared, for herself, but it's much too late for her to start thinking and being scared for her loss of freedom now. The time she should've considered that was before that trigger was pulled the first time. The backlash is immense. But the best backlash will be if the jury comes back with Guilty of first degree murder.

Yes, since he was shot in heart that would've been a fatal shot. I have a feeling that was the first shot. Being a nurse she'd have known it would be fatal so the second behind the ear was, to me, pure hate and anger.. execution.

I have read the article that Lawrence Buser of the Commercial Appeal has written on this case. My hope is he will be at the court daily and blog on the trial live. At least have a daily update article. All I'll have to go on is media and comments of daily trial process if a camera isn't in the court caring the trial live. I have hopes the local station will have one there filming the trial live so it can be watched on the internet via their feed. Of course it depends on the judge whether electronic devices will be allowed in the court...

I absolutely loved it when reading Branham's comment in court ( I forget which article it was) - "She wants to have her cake and eat it, too." How true! Missy Branham is my kind of Prosecutor! The psych evaluation could be for multiple reasons- having to do with her frame of mind the day of shooting or even now and/or see if she is mentally ready to take an active part in her trial ... (delay tactics). I don't think the state should have to pay for one though.

I suspect, but could be completely off, that the expert they want is a firearms expert to discuss angle of bullets, type of gun used, safety of that gun, trigger pull etc... If defense is going to claim he was shot during an argument (struggle) then it could be they are wanting to go with gun went off during said struggle. Go figure. Anything goes if it makes logical sense to them -- they can put up a theory just to attempt adding reasonable doubt in jurors mind. But 2 shots and one of those behind ear, to me, isn't logical of any argument or struggle scenario.

  24. Really don't think he had been in the apt. long enough for an argument to ensue he had been to the dentist at 7am that morning so he couldn't have gotten home until at least at 8am and the gunshots were heard at 8:10am and I am not sure how an agrument could have taken place and her have time to put the gun a 38 snubnose pistol under the sleeve of her sweatshirt and shoot him thru the sweatshirt personally I think she ambushed him when he got home. I am not sure he stayed at the apartment that night.I do know that he had eatten some breakfast somewhere because there was still food in his stomach.Personally in my opinion she had the gun in position when he walked in the door so that she could murder him

  25. She should be convicted and given a life sentence without the possiblilty of parole. This is what this young mans family has been given a life sentence without ever seeing or hearing there loved one again and a life filled with sadness and they did absolutely nothing to cause them to be stuck with this life sentence.

  26. I worked with Pamela about 8 years ago. Actually she was my supervisor. I met her through Michael's mother who I worked with at another job. At the time Michael was dating someone but Pamela still spent lots of time talking about trying to get together with him. It was a real challenge to work with her because she felt that she was the only one who knew how to do the job. If something was done differently than she did it she either changed it or made sure to tell you how she thought it should be. I know that the position she was in required an RN license and she only held an LPN license. The company had given her opportunity to continue working and obtain the RN but it seemed like she thought they would not hold her to this. She always came across as thinking she was better than everyone else. I ultimately quit the job and told the manager that it was because I could no loner work with Pamela due to her attitude.

If he did keep that appointment with the dentist and was deceased as of 8:10 AM then I wholly agree with you. No major argument as alleged ensued after he arrived home IMO. She may have asked if he was still intending leaving her and he said, yes. Or just told her when he arrived that he had come for his belongings. And she was waiting for that, and shot him. That Pam already had that gun hidden in her sweat hoodie sleeve is apparent to me. The gun wasn't in a drawer or lying on a table where she came into contact with it during an argument. It was hidden! And too, if the dentist had medicated Michael he wouldn't have been of full awareness. Everything I have read says premeditated deliberate murder to me.

We shall see what her story is, either through her lawyers OS or her testimony. Missy Branham will hit fast and hard with questioning if Pam takes the stand.

And now she can get that RN status via taxpayers payment, or any other degree she wants, and work in the prison hospital. People like the one you described her to be when you worked with her are frustrating to be around at any time! They know best and more than you no matter if you've been there - done that (as the saying goes). I certainly wouldn't want her kind caring for my loved one. Because regardless of what they know or think they know, my loved one comes first- not their ego!

Thank you for commenting. The more I read on who Pamela was, the more I wish DA had gone for DP!

  30. I was married to Michael for six years and the mother of two of his children. I would love to share so many stories about the defendant and her desire to try to win Mike back throughout our marriage. However, I refuse to devuldge too much information publicly and will testify in court. I will tell you this, mike was antidrama. He hated arguing and would leave if it became heated in any way. Neither of us were perfect in our marriage, but nothing that would warrant murder or even the thought of murder. He was a wonderful dad and just wanted peace. Although we did not express our concerns to him, His entire family knew (as well as I) that she was capable of murdering him if he tried to leave her. We even were scared of him taking medication from her. My children have suffered at the hands of this woman. She simply did not want anyone to have him if she couldn't. I believe she felt that her child was grown and she didn't want my kids to have a father, nor his mother to have a son. I believe that she shot him once and realized he might still be alive and then she exacuted him. Then, after only 14 hours in jail and a reasonable bond she thought shed gotten away with it. She even showed up at the first court date smiling (of corse until she got in front of the judge). She is a narsasistic cunning evil person and I pray every night my kids see justice. I also pray for the person defending her, because he doesn't have to visit his kids parent at a grave site for their birthdays or any other holiday as I do. Have to explain to them that God didn't allow this to happen, instead it's evil. Nor does he have to try to explain to a mother why God would allow both of her children to be taken away. I really appreciate you following this case.

  31. Michael was my stepson and my best friend. We would sit for hours and watch ball games yelling and laughing the entire time.I miss him so much. He was one of the best men I ever had the pleasure of meeting.I have to watch as his mother withers away daily at times she can't even get out of bed has lost all desire to do anything. She has endured in the last 6 years more than anybody should have to in a lifetime.Michael was a person that bothered no one he just wanted to live a peaceful life and he loved his kids and was so proud of them. He loved to play golf and when he was in high school he was a pole vaulter and held the state record for a long time.He also loved to play softball. I never knew anyone that met him that didn't like him. We all miss him so much.Pam knew the day she took his life that she would be destroying so many lives and she did not care.I pray that eventually she gets what she deserves.George

  32. My dad never did anything wrong to this woman. Me & my sister went to his house on the weekends & there was never any fighting what so ever. The only time anyone was ever upset or in a bad mood, was pam if she ddnt get her way. She was evil, behind our dads back she would make rude comments to me & my sister & she was always very akward to us. She was very jelous of me & my litle sister & if we had my dads attention, she would strive for it back. If they were in the living room & we came in there, she would stretch her legs out so we couldnt sit by him. Shes manipulative & evil. We never let my dad know any of this because he seemed happy, maybe not with pam, but he was settled & doin ok. We were young & felt like we didnt wanna mess things up. My dad would have never layed a hand on anyone much less a woman. He has never spanked me or any of my sisters. Never layed a hand on us & pam expects everyone to believe it wa domestic violence ? No. My dad was a peice maker, all he wanted to do was make everyone around him happy. Most people would say she has no idea what shes put this family threw, but she knows exactly whats been done. She knows what shes putting us threw & hes known it all along, even before the trigger was pulled .

  33. Mike was a great man, and just wanted peace as his first wife said. Wendy almost raised my three children growing up as I worked and she was a mom, a teacher, and taking care of children in her home. I picked my children up everday day and would see Mike at least three times a week. He would come in as I picked my kids up. He was a gentle man, and always had his two girls to scoop and love. I never heard but kind words out of this mans mouth.

We took a over night trip my husband and I with the Taylor couple on job related things. We road in a car for 7 hours there and back, ate dinner, and went to the meeting. Mike wasn't a drinker or even a smoker. He was a very sport driven man, like golf, softball, and basketball.

Mike wouldn't have hurt a woman no doubt.

    MAY THE JUDGE SEE THIS..

  34. Just returned from court and the trial date has been changed to Nov. 28 2011 due to her lawyer needing more time to plan and get some kind of evaluation on her.Mr. Wharton made the statement that someone was leaking information to the press and I wasn't aware that we knew any info that was suppose to be confidential. I was allowed to speak today as a victim of this crime and at one point Mr. Wharton objected to that.I thought everyone had right to freedom of speech espicially if it is the truth. Yes my son did make the appointment to the dentist that morning because I went and spoke with the dentist. Diane Welch-Michael Taylors mother.

  35. Mike was an awesome, loving, caring father and step father! One of my fav memories was when he took me n my step-sister (Brittany) to see the movie "titanic" lol I feel old now. But anyway he was always there for us when we needed him! A good memory I ha. Befor he past- Cassidy ( his middle daughter) was going on a little date to the movies with her bf and needed a little money to get something to eat, none of us had any money so he reached in his pocket and pulled out everybit of change or money he had to give her. They loved going over to see him on the weekends and he LOVED HIS GIRLS!! My whole childhood growing up I rem going to his softball games and oh how he loved his softball!! Brittany n I would cheer him on and he would just smile back! I also rem "Pam" and being so young I remember everytime he name would come up it would be about something crazy she did.. Like trying to break up my mom and mike the time they were married. she was always jealous! Here's where it comes point blank simple YOU CANT JUST GO AROUND KILLING PEOPLE! end of story! She took away a dad a grandad ( I just had a little girl he will never get to meet) a son to whom she's already lost another son a couple years ago, a uncle who Kyle looked up to being his father already passed away so mike was all he basically had of his dad.. And a great cousin and nephew! We miss him deeply words can't describe how much we miss him his laugh, his smile his genuinly kindness he had toward everyone!! I miss you mike and I know your watching down on your new grandbaby Kaydence :) my heart hurts a million pieces knowing this happend to you Pam took you away from us simply because you were leaving here bc you had enough of her lies and craziness!! SHE WILL GET WHATS COMING TO HER I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT! AND GOD IS THE BIGGEST FEAR SHE SHOULD HAVE ;) -Aud

  36. Wow. This is still very hard for me to take in that my father is dead , and it's been two years. Well I can tell you one thing , pam knew exactly what she was doing to him and our entire family. Pam is an evil woman and she will have what's coming to her very soon... I miss him soo much it's really hard to get thru some days sometimes. I would do anything just to hear his voice again.or maybe just to see him smile. Me and my sister have lost our dad forever just because Pam thought "if she couldn't have him, noone else could either". I miss you soo much dad and justice WILL get served.

  37. The court site has Nov 28,2011 set as trial date. They'd never put up the Sept. date so I didn't want to add it here as official.

Her next court date with the case is 9/20.

Pamela can enjoy Thanksgiving before her trial. But, I hope her thoughts will be about all she 'had' to be thankful for but destroyed with her actions. God willing and if jury reaches a verdict she will not be walking free on her birthday in Dec nor on the 2nd anniversary of Michael's death.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mrs. Welch, I have no idea what Wharton could be refering to with his leaking information to the press. I was of understanding Mr. Buser attended the hearings with this case and that's where he got his information.

Unless the Judge has a gag order on lawyers and witnesses then what could be leaked out?

That said, I know until a jury finds Pamela guilty if the charges against her then her being a murderer is alleged. Although it is my understanding she is not denying causing Michael's death, she is saying it happened during an argument. Accidental or fear of her own life during a domestic attack on his part? (Must have been a very short argument/attack since he was deceased by 8:10 AM and allegedly barely home from the dentist.) But he did keep that dental appointment. I'd like to know if the dentist medicated him that morning with any kind of pain meds or anything that could slow thought and reaction time.

And I'd like to know why if she loved him did she pawn the symbol of her marriage to him, the wedding rings -- and then purchased the weapon -a snub-nosed .38-caliber revolver with the cash she received from the sale.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes at one point in the beginning they said she said there was an altercation but by that time he was dead and unable to say anything. I have found out that everything hummanly possible is done to protect the persons rights that is charged with the crime. I see very little that is done to protect the victims rights.I am glad that we do have a very strong DA because she is the one that is helping us get through this.I have known Pam since she was 15 years old and have always known what she was capable of.I could tell tons of stories of things that she has done but I want get into all of that I am sure things will come out at trial. I know I have a 13 and 15 year old granddaughters that are scared to sleep at night for fear that she may come in and kill them. I know that the daughter that her and my son have together has to work two jobs and gets very little help and is putting herself thru college. I know that the state is not helping myself nor any of my grandchildren but they are helping pay for Pams pre trial services.I was not surprised tht the trial date was put off in fact not much surprises me any more.I do know that my life will never be the same nor will the life of my grandchildren who miss there dad so much everyday.Everybody who knew my son loved him and it wasn't that way with her.As far as I know there has been nothing said in court that wasn't public nor is there a gag order.I certainly am not saying my son was perfect but he was never a violent person.I also realize that someday people will have to realize that some women are just plain evil and when they kill there spouse they do it because they are evil . When a man kills his wife or companion there is so much more publicity and he is usually charged with 1st degree and has a much higher bond than women do. All I can do is pray that the jurors see the truth and I have all the confidence in the world in Missy Branham our DA and her Assistant Amy.Diane Welch

  40. I just pray that the jury listens to all the evidence and doesn't see her just sitting looking as though she has done nothing. I think the picture of her walking around on the outside of the apt. the day she murdered him should be shown to the jury. The way you look does not make you a murderer it is what is on the inside that makes you the way you are.I am sure the jury will not be told of all the evil deeds she has done which makes up the person that she became.Self centered people who care only about themselves and try to isolate there husband/companion from everybody are very scary people. Sometimes these companions/husband go along with it for a short while just to try and keep peace but when they can stand it no longer they leave and people like Pam are determined no one would leave her unless that is what she wanted. People should be educated on domestic violence when it is the woman that is the aggressor. They should also watch a show that comes on called deadly women and they will get a better idea of these violent women.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anonymous, I have only seen the booking photos of Pam. They aren't complementary for sure. More and more sites are popping up on the internet to help educate on female violence against men. A good thing. Several radio shows with blog talk radio discuss cases where female spouses are the perps. Crimewire (www.crimewiresite.com ) has quite a few of them. Their radio show is on every Tuesday at 8 PM central , 9 PM eastern. I agree violence against men aren't as widely publized as domestic violence against women. Susan Murphy Milano's book "Time’s Up": A guide on How to Leave and Survive Abusive and Stalking Relationships is one that both males and females who are in DV situations could use to understand and learn how to leave safely. I highly recommend it. Susan also has a radio show with http://community.herewomentalk.com with Zues Radio every Thursday at 1 PM central 2 PM eastern dealing with DV.

I've watched the show you mentioned, and agree. Snapped is another TV show that covers women killers.

  43. Mike Taylor was my best friend and like a brother to me. I know you hear that said a lot but it's very rare I believe that it is true. I can say that I knew him as well and probably better than anyone. Mike would always walk away from an argument and that is exactly what he was trying to do when Pam murdered him. Pam has always literally been obsessed with Mike. She killed him instead of just letting him get his things and leave. If there is any question in anyones mind that Mike was abusive there shouldn't be. He was way to non-confrontational for that. In fact she was quite the opposite and very confrontational. I miss my friend and being able to pick up the phone and talk to him. If this was a man in Pams position he would have never left jail and it is insane that she is free right now. Please let us have justice for one of the best men I've ever known. Stop slapping Mikes mom and the people who loved him in the face and put Pam in jail for the rest of her life. Nothing else is will do! Mike Smith.

  44. The weekend went by and I had one of Mikes daughters with me.. I looked at her and the sadness fills my heart as I know Mike is not here to be able to watch them grow up. He can't be there for graduations, weddings, and grandbabies.( the oldest step daughter he raised had a beautiful baby girl) My heart goes out to his mom, because on pretty days like this fall outside , she is thinking Mike would be golfing today or playing a great game of ball. My heart goes out to Lance and his other great friends Mike Smith in the above post. We can't get Mike back, but we must stand up and put the killer away for life. Mike was a great man and never would hurt anyone.

  45. There is so much tht people can find out about Pam just by checking public records. The person that she tries to betray is not the person she is. She was the stalker and the jealous one she would even follow his friends thinking that he might be with them. She tried her best to keep him away from his friends and family. So sad that she has caused so many people so much pain and this includes the one daughter that they had together. His family and friends are waiting for the day that she finally gets what she deserves which would be life in prison.

  46. I was thinking today that at one of the court dates she told the court she could not get a job because of this incident this was not an incident it was a choice she made to murder my son. For me there will never be happiness in my life again it is all I can do to make it thru each day there is not a second of any day that this is not on my mind.Having to deal with the court system is almost unreal everything is done to give the criminal the benefit of the doubt. I think about the hell she must have put him thru when she found out he was leaving her.She gave him hell when he visited his family or played ball or golf or did anything with his friends. She tried so hard to keep him away from everybody except her.He is not here to tell his side of the story but there are so many people that can tell how obsessed she was with him. I begged him not to marry her but he felt like if they were married then there daughter would have a stable home for a change.Diane

  48. My heart breaks every day knowing my son has to be without his father and now Michael's daughers have to feel this pain too. When Kyle lost his dad, he knew he had his Uncle Mike that he looked up to and that he loved to hang with and talk about sports and life and who would always be there for him and to teach him to become a man. Well thanks to Pam that is no longer true. She not only took the life of a wonderful son and father but she took the Uncle that my son adored. Michael was a wonderful man and it isn't fair that Pam gets to run free while we all suffer with the loss and pain that she has caused. It's not fair that Wendy and I take our children to the cemetery for birthdays and holidays for them to spend time with their fathers. I see Diane in so much pain that it breaks my heart that any mother would have to go through so much. So I ask that everyone who reads this please pray that our judicial system sends away this horrible person who has taken so much away from our family. PRAY FOR JUSTICE!

  51. I saw that Feb 12 date and just wondered if maybe it's a sentencing date if a presentencing investigation is asked for by defense should she be found guilty of premeditated first degree with the LWOP. I think it's rather obvious she is guilty, the question is will the jury go for the 1st or a lesser charge. I just don't see any way for them to have reasonable doubt and find NG or self defense or accidental. But jurors are jurors and depending on what evidence is allowed you never know. They have to decide with only what they hear in trial.

  52. Went to court today and I thought I was told it was to be see what was to be admitted into evidence. Her lawyer is requesting more time which he does every time something about making sure she did not give a statement in the apt. after killing my son=it is very hard to understand what he is saying he doesn't speak very clearly. He was given another date I think Oct25th but was told he should have already taken care of this since the info was given to him months ago. I am sure he is trying to get the trial put off again but da had to change a court date to work this one in for Nov. 28th when he wanted to get a psych eval before the last trial date of Sept. 19.Not real sure if he got a psych eval although we did hear he took her to Nashville to get one seems a waste of money when there are plenty of psychiatrist in Memphis-oh yeah she is not paying for it the state is.Hopefully the judge want change trial date this has been going on for almost two years. Our DA is great.Like I said her attorney Andre Wharton speaks very low,non-stop and his speech is not very clear so it is hard to understand what he is talking about. When we saw her on TV after she killed my son she was walking around and did not even had on handcuffs at that time.Diane

  53. Mike was trying to do what victims of domestic violence are told to do and that is get out of the situation. He was moving his belongings but she had already put a plan in place to ensure that he did not leave her and that was put a bullet through his heart and his head.It is a shame that people do not demand the same treatment for violent women as they do for violent men.If a jury after hearing the evidence doesn't find her guilty of 1st degree murder then there is really something wrong with the justice system.

The truth is the truth and nothing is going to change that.Diane

  55. I am still amazed as I sit in this courtroom that the victims have absolutely no rights. The defendant is allowed to say things that are untrue and really the victims family is allowed to say very little.I have a pamplet that says the victims are suppose to be able to have a speedy trial with resolution but this does not seem to be the truth either. It is very frustrating for the family of the victim and yet no one seems to care.

  59. It is so unfair that the state would have to pay for pretrial services when the defendant is able to work. She has not problem coming to court dressed up when she has a daughter that is 20 years old having to work several jobs just to stay in college with very little help. She would not even have gotten into college had her dad not helped because her mother would not give her her income tax info to file for financial aid.The defendant is more than able to work. You would think if she posted a bond it could have been revoked so she could pay her pretrial stuff.Certainly you can become very leary and hardened toward the justice system.Really the victim and there family gets lost in the system. Hopefully when the trial does finally start Michaels side will be told and at least finally the truth will cometo light.

No one knew until graduation that she had not paid the school. She also let her daughter drive around in a car that the repo people were looking for and no one knew that she had stopped paying on the car. To keep her from driving aroundin a car that the repo people were looking for she had help in getting her a car that no one was looking. So many underhanded things that this underhanded woman did that ther would not be enough time to write all of them.

  61. Michael was a man that loved his job and would never have done anything to jeoperdize it.He loved to play golf and softball. He could sit and play xbox for hours and the kids loved it they said it was like watching a movie. He won numerous awards from fogelman corporation for the great work he did at the apartment complex. Actually he won regional supervisor of the year he had wanted so badly to win and he did & had been murdered befor it was announced. His children accepted the award for him. Michael was a very people friendly person and that was evident by the way the the tenants at the apartments felt about him and the fact that he had the same friends for years. He always paid his child support and kept his children often and loved every minute of it.She on the other hand did not seem to have any friends or hobbies. I remember her daughter saying one time I feel sorry for mom because everybody hates her.In all the years I knew her I saw her with very few friends. She wanted to keep Michael and her daughter all to herself.People are put on this earth to be loved and cared for by many not for one person to try and isolate them is so wrong and vengeful

  62. Is her daughter testifying in states case? In trials hearsay is not allowed so the jury won't hear a lot that has been told here on the blog. Sometimes they are able to get some in with the not being used as truth of the matter but the jury can't take it as factual.

    ReplyDelete
  63. We never though anything from the blog would be admitted into trial that is not why people are writting it. There are enough witnesses for Michael to prove the person that he was and yes I am sure all 4 of his daughters will testify. There is a lot of evidence that will not be heard until trial. Michael only had one daughter with the woman that killed him. He did not marry her when Britt was born 20 years ago and had only been married to her for less than 2 years but for years she actually stalked him and did everything she could to get him to go back to her and he never would. There is a reason he finally married her and I am sure that will come out at trial to.

  64. When my 3 girls were growing up, the oldest was in 9th grade and youngest in the 4th, problems at the local public schools worsened with violence. We were more concerned with them getting an education so they'd grow to be independent and have the ability to have good jobs. So we put them in a private school. I don't know how Pamela was able to not pay her child's tutition. Ours had to be paid monthly or report cards weren't sent home. No way we'd been able to not pay all year. Of course we paid on time so a problem didn't arise. How Pamela managed to not pay is a conundrum to me. The school must not have had good people handling finances or she had help.

The relevant facts concerning their relationship will come out during the trial. I've seen enough trials to know the defense will counter state with attempt to demean Michael. Sadly innocent victims are made the bad guy far too often and defendants made to be victims by defense.

People will believe what they want to believe regardless of evidence. All family can do it hope the jurors see light through shadows and come back with a verdict of justice for Michael without reasonable doubt. I sure hope they do.

  65. We could not figure out how she got away with not paying the school either. She paid a little each year but still ended up owing a large amount and we could not get her diploma and after much begging and pleading we were finally able to get her transcript so she could get into college. By the time all this took place Britt was 18 so she could get all the papers showing how much was left owing.I did question the school about how they let her go so long without paying and finally they did send her transcript but she has yet to get her diploma. Even though they were married for less than 2 years he continued to pay child support while they were married and went to court in Dec.2009 have the child support stopped legally.I still have the papers Britt got from the school showing how much she owed.I pray everyday for justice and that this trial will hurry and start and that someday I can wake up and not have to think about what she has done to our family

And in particular the last 2 years of his life. He deserved so much better in life than what she put him through. 68. I really don't feel the judge will throw out her confession. Especially if it was after she had been read her rights or if she spoke freely without coercion.

The defendant has a right to a speedy trial, but sadly they also have the right to do all they can to complain about rights not being shown. In other words, cause delay after delay via complaint motions etc. I pray this trial isn't delayed again also. If Pamela really is looking forward to telling her side of the story then she should say, go to trial ASAP, IMO.

I'm also happy that this is a way for the family to vent in a way and ease the grief a little bit.

There's not much I can say to this that hasn't all ready been said. But what I can say is this:

Jr was and is still an amazing person. He is still here in his children. In their laughter and smiles (though I know those are few and far between and will be for a while).

All I can say is a candle will be burning in my window both families and all involved

    *hugs all*

  83. It is very hard to sit in court and listen to lies that are being told about my son that was the victim. In a 8 hour session only 2 witnessess were put on .Make no mistake it was Pam that was jealous and moody she really had no friends could not keep a job and really did not have much contact with her family until shortly before she killed Michael. On the other hand Michael was very well liked played on several softball teams played golf and had lots of friends. When Micheal eventually let Pam move in it was because there had been an altercation between Pam and her daughter Pam had slapped Brittany and Pams mother got involved and there was an altercation between her and Pam and Pam sent Britt to her dads house and then the next day she went over and told Mike she had no where to go and ask if she could stay there until she could find a place Pam had just been evicted from her townhouse and had just moved in with her grandmother when the altercation occured between her and her mother. When I ask Michael why he was letting hher stay he said he wanted Brittany to be able to have a stable home and he thought Pam had changed. Unfortunately for my son he let his guard down and she killed him. Diane

  84. Diane, I am glad the jury selection went smoothly on Monday. What is the make-up of jurors? Are you happy with the ones chosen?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Bramble, I am glad the family feel they can come here and speak freely of their feelings during this long ordeal too. The last two years had to have been emotionally draining for all Michael's loved ones.

My prayers continue that justice will be properly served with this trial.

  86. Diane, This is apparently going to be a long trial if all witnesses are kept on the stand while defense questions and requestions in an attempt to add doubt in jurors minds about validity of what they are saying. Jurors as a whole can see through defense strategies. And when a defendant pawns rings and purchases a gun with the money then hides that gun in her sleeve early the very next morning, it puts stress on deliberate to me.

  87. As usual the testimony differs when lawyers for defense and state give their OS in trials. I did not expect the Taylor trial would be any different. According to accounts in Lawerence Buser's article in http://www.commercialappeal.com/
Andre Wharton, the attorney for defendant Pamela Taylor claimed Michael was a physically and verbally abusive person and his client was in fear of her life.

From all I have read since that fateful morning in December of 2009 Michael and Pamela knew each other since high school. They dated and parted although she gave birth to his child. But the two once again came together and married a couple years before he died.

I am still waiting to see how Michael could be shot twice, once in heart and then in behind his ear in a fearful, self defense way. I simply can't wrap my brain around any scenario that fits. The fact that Pamela went the day before killing Michael and pawned her wedding rings and bought a 38 caliber gun is suspicious to me that showing she was planning his demise. And not from fear but deliberate calculating murder. ( He allegedly was intending to move out and divorce her- so if he was so abusive, she should have been happy not in so immediate fear of her life she needed a gun for protection)

  88. Good day in court today. Testimony was good and seemed to be in our favor. Mr. Wharton draws everything out so we aren't getting many witnesses in each day. Mikes ex wife testified today and told the true story of the way Michael was and that he was not and has never been an abuser. We are very upbeat about the trial. I know anything can happen in a trial but I know my son was a good man and not a violent man could he get mad of course but never to where he would hit anyone he usually got mad at himself.Diane

  89. Diane, I am glad you and the family are seeing positives through the negatives the defense spouts. Keep that strong faith that justice will prevail.

  90. So the victim requested she be removed from his insurance and his 3 children be kept. That speaks volumes to me. 1. He intended to leave her. 2. He may have suspected something was up with her. 3. He was a good father and wanted to make sure his children were cared for. I now wonder if she threatened his physical wellbeing. If so, it may be something he wouldn't mention to his family. I can't move past that she hocked her wedding rings. (which say to me that they didn't mean much to her. I would never hock mine. Her doing so says to me, that she was more about status and control. She didn't want to let it be known he left her, she wanted to be the one who said when and if it was over. It was her marriage not his. )

She then goes and purchases a gun with the monies and uses it that very next day. What are the odds he'd arrive home and start a violent argument the next morning? What are the odds she would just happen to have the gun hidden in her sweat shirt sleeve the very next morning and feel so in fear of her life she pulled the trigger twice? What are the odds he'd be shot accidentally during an argument behind the ear after being shot in chest? I say next to nil!

I am glad his daughter and others testified he wasn't a violent man that they ever noticed, heard or witnessed. This depletes and negates the demeaning image defense is attempting to set in jurors minds.

    ReplyDelete
  91. So not only did Pamela go out and buy herself a .38 with monies she got from hocking her wedding rings - She also allegedly called and gave a false report to 911 about Michael attacking her the same day! Seems she'd had good sense to at least make it look like some things were out of place and make a loud noise while on the phone! Evidence heard by jurors and the 911 operator and officer who came to the apartment reeks of premeditation. The state is putting up a clear case for first degree murder.

  92. I think today went really well in court . The coroner testified and showed pictures I did not stay in the room because I want to remember my son as he was the last time I saw him. But Wharton kept saying Michael was in a roid rage and the coroner said his levels were within normal range. Said he was shot in the heart first and there was 2 1/2 liters of blood in his chest cavity which was why there was no blood from the head shot. Her 911 tape was played today from the day she murdered him and it was so fake.We will be going to court on Saturday and Sunday so hopefully early next we will have a verdict. All the police that testified said the scene looked staged that there was nothing broken and a few chairs turned over. We are getting out of court very late so we are prretty exhausted. So proud of Missy Branham and her assistants they are doing a wonderful job.Diane

  93. Again I think we had a good day in court. The evidence against her is so strong. I just can't imagine that they will find her guily of anything less that 1st degree. It is very hard to sit and listen to her attorney because he ask the same questions over and over. all of the testimony has been favorable for Michael. I know roid rage is one of the things he has tried to use but from what I understand the levels in his body were normal. Michael was never a violent man yes he may get mad at the xbox machine or irtitated if his ball team lost but he never became violent to peopleHis property manager testified that she had been doing this a long time an dhe was the best maintenance supervisor she had ever had. the tenants talked about how nice he was when he was doing a job explaining to them what he was doing and that no matter wha t tthey called him he came with a smile. Hopefully this will not last much longer and we will get the justice we deserve for our son.Diane

  94. Diane, I got lazy yesterday and didn't write anything on the trial. I was so glad that when the 911 call was made the home didn't appear to show a big struggle took place. I just can't decide what Pamela's defense is. She claims to have purchased the gun to kill herself yet she kept it in her sleeve. Allegedly so it wouldn't fall out the pocket of her sweat which to me is a bogus excuse. If she wanted to committ suicide why did she shoot Michael in the chest if he was trying to harm her? Yet she also claims self defense because he was trying to kill her. She'd have gotten her revenge by dying at his hands. And why since she was a nurse and knew that shot would be fatal did she shoot him again behind the ear? This roid rage defense isn't filling the cup when it comes to reasonable doubt to me.

  95. I like that Pros keeps refuting the defense strategy that Michael was in a roid rage when he was killed. That those who lived in the apartments said he was always friendly and smiling says a lot. If he was abusing steroids or any other drug then he'd have shown signs of drug use and/or extreme anger other than that fateful morning. I just think somebody would've noticed his personality was changing. He'd gone to the dentist and I think they'd have noticed something was wrong.
I know people can switch in a snap from seeminly calm to anger but nothing about this case is telling me Michael did so Dec 23, 2009.

  96. I'll be interested to see how Pros handles defense witneses! Pamela began crying only after she was told Michael was dead. I'd argue she, considering her profession and background, knew he was dead when she called 911. Pamela is not a victim of battered woman syndrome. Emotionally or physcially. At least, I'd say from all I've read and heard, not by Michael.

  97. Michael came home from the dentist punched in at the main office at 8:26 took him 5=6 minutes to get to his apartment and out of his car and into the apartment and the man upstairs said he heard to gunshots at 8:39.I did not stay to see the crime scene picture but everyone said that it did not match what she said at all. He was only in the apartment for approximately 5-7 minutes before she shot and killed him. Not one person has testified that Michael had ever been violent toward any person only that he did have an arguemnet or two with his xbox and controller. The property manaager testified that she had been doing this job for many years and he was the best maintenance supervison she had ever worked with that if there was a problem he would just say I will figure out a way to get this done. A representatvie from Fogelman properties testified that on the day we buried Michael Dec. 29 Pam called the office wanting to know about his last check and his life insurance money. Also someone had changed the locks on his apt. after he was killed and it was not anyone from fogelman so when fogelman realized this they had someone go change the locks again and said Pam was wanting them to give her a key so she could get into her apartment but this was not done. The dentist that he saw that morning came and testified and stated that he was always smiling and happy and had made another appointment on Dec. 29.Mr. Wharton ask her if his teeth were stained from smoking marijuana and she said no his teeth were white and not stained. We go back to court today at 1pm. I know the juror must be so tired.Remember that when she was realized from jail in the early hours of Dec. 24 she went back to the apartment and took a shower in the very bathroom that she had murdered him in. diane

I am the witness that recieved the phone calls from the defendant. Although I did not know Mike other than a casual hello (Other than at our office and work functions, I remember seeing him at Kroger a few times & he would always nod and say hi with a great smile), he seemed like a very nice person. I will admit to being nervous in court, but the truth has to be told and justice needs to be served. I wanted to mention that the fact that the defendant does not have "even one person" sitting in the courtroom on her behalf (other than her mother and aunt who, of course, were outside as I am sure they will be witnesses for the defense) reads volumes to the character of this individual. No friends? I only wonder if the jury notices how full Mike's side of the courtroom is versus her empty side. I am mostly commenting here to tell you how sorry I am for your loss and how much I appreciate your updates here as we are very interested in the proceedings. To Tigresspen, this site is very insightful. Your comments allow people who are closer to these cases a venue to speak their feelings.... its a great site. 101. Anonymous, I am surprised her family didn't argue they had a right to be in courtroom during trial. In many cases I've seen where parents are allowed even if they are going to testify. Just as victim's family is there. I am so glad many are there to stand behind Michael's family. Moral support speaks.

Thank you for the compliment of this site. I hope families of victims always feel they have a place here to come and talk about their loved one. I am a mother of 3 also and couldn't imagine the emptiness victims family feel when a child is murdered. I admit I get angry and can get a little pushy with my anger over such senseless deaths but, it seems it's always the good ones who are killed in these intimate partner deaths. I believe Pamela killed Michael out of a narcissistic need to be in control and that just makes me feel ill. It was her or nothing.

Again, thank you for the compliment and the comment here.

  102. Pam tookk the stand and did nothing but lie. Her attorney was allowed to hire an outside forensic expert from New Mexico not sure how since our policeman and fireman in this city have had there pay cut and benefits. She of course tried to say he abused her but the people that lived beside them and above them said they never heard any arguments from the apartment. Michael went home that night and she said he did nothing nor did he say aything to her yet she wants people to believe tht the next morning within a few minutes a fight ensued said he grabbed her by her hair if tht wa the case there would have been more than 2 strands of her hair found and she would have grabbed his hands to keep it from hurting as he was pulling her hair but she didn't because she continued to keep the gun under her sweat shirt.the only witnesses she had were people that she knew from several years ago that britt played ball with she did not socialize with them. Not one person except her said Michael was violent. Like I said he may have had a few run ins with his x box and controller mostly being mad at himself but there was never any proof that he was ever violent toward any person. Someday someone will put a stop to women killing there husband and yelling domestic abuse when there is none and i hope this is the case that does it. Diane

  104. The jury has the case now. I pray they see the truth behind the defense. None of what they said was shown to be truth according to what I understand from the evidence presented. Why would Michael go into a steroid rage in less than 10 minutes after returning home. If he was pulling her by the hair when he was shot in the chest then how did he end on the bed and why shoot him behind the ear? And why didn't others see the steroids were beginning to change his personality. I think it was shown she is guilty as charged and planned to kill him. Hence, purchasing the gun the day before he died.

  105. I am a bit preturbed that the jury hasn't reached a decision. I have to wonder if there is a rogue juror, one who looks over at a presentable well dressed defendant and feels sorry for her. Will we end with a hung jury and mistrial. I pray not. I pray for a verdict of first degree murder but have to admit that seems to be going by the wayside. I do hope if they can't agree on first degree they at least find on a lesser degree where she'll spend years in prison and not find NG so she can go home free and clear of this murder. Michael's family need closure with this trail not to have to sit through a second one! And he deserves justice. NG will not be justice!

  107. Yes this has been quiet frustrating. The DA put on a great defense showing that it was pre mediated and Mr. Wharton had nothing but witnesses that Pams daughter had played ball with 4 years ago and has not socialized with them since the ball playing stopped. Have to wonder if this is happenening once again because a woman killed a man. They named several drugs that Pam said Mike took but none showed up in his drug screen that was done not once but twice. The evidence was so clear that she planned the murder and that he had never abused her or anyone else. Thank you so much TigressPen your support means so much to me. Diane

  108. I can't believe the family is yet going though more crap...They have a clear cut case of first degree premeditation. A woman hocks her things to buy a gun and shoots a man though her sleeve, and then in the head...knows that the hollow point bullet will do more damage (not that the regular one wouldn't have done the deed) EVIL and Murder in the first degree!!!!!!!!The oldest daughter disgraced her father on that stand. If that was my dad that my mom cold blooded shot I would want nothing to do with her...Diane would and has always took care of brit.....what a shame she has done to Mike and his family....her little sisters, and her own self....Brit will have to look in the mirror every day and she is going to regret not fighting for Mike. I can't help but wonder what will happen if they must go though the trial again if it's a hung Jury...Please Lord I pray they see the truth. Thank God for JT who did fight for Mike!!!

I was glad the jury came together on a verdict at least. I personally think the first degree was proven but 2nd sends her to prison. Here's hoping the judge gives her the maximum.

Yes it is good Pamels will spend a while behind bars but the sad thing is she'll be up for parole after about a third of her sentence is spent behidn bars. So if she gets the 15 years, parole can be applied for after approximately 5 years or sooner. Of course Diane and family can go to these hearings and give testimony and request they be denied but it's up to the parole board if it is granted.

  124. I have read through all of these postings...No murder is completely justified. I know Pam very well and remember MANY ball games where my daughter playing with Pam's daughter - Pam never missed a game from 1st grade on....Michael was not always there - that doesn't make either of them a bad person. I do believe however in a FAIR TRIAL - regardless of the crime. I know that they did not allow witnesses for the defendant - however the appeal will change that. I was interviewed by the PI a few times. I have personally seen pictures of Pam after being abused. Not sure how many times, but YES it did happen. Does anyone deserve to die? No - but THEIR daughter doesn't deserve to lose BOTH PARENTS and have to choose sides. Anyone think about what that poor girl has gone through. So many years it was just her and her Mom. Pam was not and is not a bad person - her actions - whether self defense or not - I agree there is always another way out without death of anyone. I hate all of Mike's kids have lost their father - I would not want that for anyone. HOWEVER I do know Pam very well and do not feel anything was premeditated.

THINK ABOUT IT: I was not there - Where you?
Therefore regardless of their history - NOBODY really knows what happened except Pam. I can say I have seen pictures from few years ago and be glad they were not admitted into court. But they will be later and YES - there will be a later. I am not saying Pam will not serve jail time - but we do live in America and she deserves a fair trial with her witnesses - including the ones which witnessed Mike's temper on the golf course toward Pam with a golf club(more than once).

I pray for you Britt - as you have now lost both your parents at a time when you need them. Just keep in mind - there are many people who love you. Please keep your faith in GOD as he will keep his arms around you! Don;t let anyone try and convince you to believe anything you know differently in your heart <3

    1. You keep talking about pictures and I can not understand why anyone would go through a trial and have pictures and not bring them into evidence. As for Britt she will tell you it is not Mikes family that has tried to convice her to say things that aren't true we do not even talk to her about the murder. There are no sides for her to chose only the truth and believe me if anyone knows the evil things that Pam could do to people it is Brittany. She certainly is in a bad place knowing that her mother is a murderer and that Pam did not give one thought about Brittany when she murdered Michael. For everyone to know her mother killed her father because he was going to divorce her mother.

      Delete
    2. Yes Michael was at all of Britts games he did not sit with Pam because he did not want to be around her so he sat by himself or with me or the other two kids if we went. Pam had Britt in competitive ball for her not Britt she wanted people to think that she had the money for all this competive ball is expensive she was paying that but not her school but we did not know that at the time. It was Britts job to keep Pam happy instead of Pam making sure Britt was happy. I remember Britt had a few gay friends and she came tomy house hysterical because Pam refused to let her be friends with them because she was scared people would think Britt was gay. But Britt stood her ground and stayed friends with these people. What is funny is a few of the people that tried to testify for Pam but did not know Michael it was there children that Pam tried to make Britt not be friends with.

  125. Anonymous of December 15, 2011 10:31 AM:

Thank you for giving your opinion of the case.
I always think a defendant deserves a fair trial. And that is regardless of whether I think a defendant is innocent or guilty. I have to say though, in all the years since I have watched trials, since the introduction of Court TV, I have never seen one where the defendant couldn't call witnesses. And I am an avid trial watcher. Also, that Pam went to all her daughter's games doesn't mean she wasn't capable of killing. It says she loves her daughter.

I do believe this murder was premeditated. She hocked her rings to buy a .38 caliber gun. Those are small enough and lightweight enough to hide. And hide it she did. The very next morning it was inside her sleeve. Tell me why Michael was friendly and smiling when he was at the dentist then a few minutes later in a steroid rage. He died within 10 minutes of arriving home. And he died from being shot in the chest. I believe the shot behind his ear was overkill and her sending a message. We shall see if Pamela's appeal is successful. If she didn't get a fair trial then yes, she deserves a new trial.

Again, thank you for commenting here. I hope you feel you can comment on any post I make here, including this one.

  126. While I understand that everyone has a right to an opinion and I am going to try to keep this response as clean as possible...I would ask on behalf of my ENTIRE family, and all of Diane's side of the family that you please leave this blog and do not leave any more comments. This is where we can come together to write what we want about what we are experiencing. There are many people who feel for Brittany in this whether you want to believe that or not. In fact, believe what you want about Pam, but my ONLY brother is now dead and I can guarantee any photos you saw were not by his hand.

This was a fair trial, Wharton and Pam were given every allowance that the law permitted. The judge was VERY indulgent. From what I understood any witnesses that did not go on were at the dicretion of Wharton. He did not want to put any other witnesses on. If he had wanted to, he could've.

As far as premeditation, had you read the comments closely enough, you would realize she was convicted of 2nd degree murder which does not include premeditation so theres no reason to be worried about whether it was or wasn't. But if you are interested, the facts say it was, and 11 of 12 jurors also thought it was.

If there was "temper on the golf course toward Pam with a golf club" don't you think she would've mentioned that in her highly overexaggerated testimony? Well, she didn't, so theres no reason for that to even be brought up. If Pam wants an appeal, so be it. We will be there every day just like we were this past trial, but there isn't going to be a different outcome. Instead of her bitching that she didn't feel as if she had a fair trial, maybe she should write a thank you letter to the ONE JUROR who saved her from another 26 years behind bars, which might I add, had she gotten- she would've most certainly died behind bars. She should be happy that she got away with what she did, because no jury is going to convict her of anything less, nor were any errors made during trial, and she testified on the record that she was happy with her defense so she can't appeal based on that either. She should be satisfied with the very slight possibility that she might live to see sunlight outside of a fenced in courtyard sometime in her life.

The time frame alone (plus the gun bought with pawned wedding ring money) says there could not have been a fight.

Either way, I personally don't want to read any comment ever again in support of her. If you feel so strongly, start your own blog and leave us in peace. Thanks, Michael's SISTER -Abby

P.S. Taking all emotion out of this, for Michael, Pam or Brittany, someone is DEAD. And justice has been served. Its not right to let a murderer walk free simply because we do not want to take them away from their children. Thats just a ridiculous statement to even make. America would be overrun with murderers if that was the case. You want your doctor or nurse to be a murderer? Probably not. What about your kid's 2nd grade teacher? Nope. What about your boss? I doubt it.

The last and final fact of the matter is that someone was murdered, and someone has to do the time. And again, please take all futher comments elsewhere. There is no need for a place of solace for us to be turned into an argument.

  128. I am sure if there were pictures they would have been brought into evidence. Not one person on Michaels side of the family ask Brittany to pick sides all we ever wanted for anyone to do was tell the truth. Wharton could have called any witnesses he wanted and had any pictures put into evidence. There was no one sitting on Pams side of the courtroom except her mother- and aunt and Michaels side was overflowing.I am sure the person that wrote that article is one of two people they have tried to make several comments on the commercial appeal but the remarks were so horrible that they were removed. If Pam gets an appeal which I don't see we will all be there only next time instead of being 11-1 for 1st degree it would probably be 12 for premeditated first degree. If the person that wrote the above post you should sign your name then you can really show your support for Pam. 129. Wow Michael and Pam had only been together less than 2 years and then only to give Brittany a stable home since they had been evicted and kicked out of her grandmothers and had no where to go Michael was tired of seeing Brittany having to live such an unstable life with her mother. So wonder how she got pictures as you say you saw and even if she had pictures they would have been put into evidence. If she was bruised must have been from soneone else I mean unless you saw who was hitting her.Hell they would not even have been together 2 years until Feb. 2010 and she brutally murdered him Dec. 23,2009 Diane Welch

  130. I think by law if there were to be a retrial the state couldn't go for a higher degree. That would be double jeopardy. So she wouldn't get 1st premeditated murder. That is sad too. I think it should have been guilty of 1st in this trial.

    ReplyDelete
  131. According to the internet if she got a retrial she could be charged with the same thing she was the first time which was first degree premeditated murder. But we want have to worry she has nothing that would allow her to get a new trial.

    ReplyDelete
  132. If it had been a mistrial yes she could be retried for first degree but I don't think she can be retired for first in a retrial if one is granted on appeal. I can be wrong. Where did you read that on internet?

    ReplyDelete
  133. I guess you are right I guess I was just reading it wrong but it did say mistrial.I knew nothing about murder until this case and when I read some of the stuff I don't really understand a lot of it. .

  134. Just so you know it was never just Pam and Brittany. Michael was always in her life and so was I (her granny_)She spent much of her time at my house and with Michael. If not for her dad she would not be in college today and if not for me she would not have a car to drive and for the entire time she has lived in her duplex I have had to co sign for her. Everytime she came to my house complaining it was about her mother not her dad.Her boyfriend testified for a long time and made it pretty clear that everytime Brittany saw her mother she came home hysterical. The times she came to our house after her father was murdered she never left hysterical.Growing up when Brittany was at my house she would hide when Pam came to get her and then throw a fit when Pam would put her in the car to go home. So don't you dare act like my son was an absent father. He was a good father to all his children. Pam testified that she gave Brittany money to have her utilities turned on so somebody is lieing because they are on in our name. Diane Welch

  135. Brittany would not have lost both parents if her mother had not brutally murdered her father. His other two children lost there dad and they loved him very much but there mother would never murder anyone much less her childrens father. What kind of mother puts there own child in the position that she put hers in to have to live with the fact that her mother murdered her father.I am sure the child needs lots of psychological help having to live with the fact that her mother murdered her father.

  140. Let's take a look at the defendants past and the victims past. How does the defendant know so much about abuse? Perhaps it is because she herself is the abuser? Mike has had numerous relationships in his past, including a marriage. Many of his ex-girlfriends and his ex-wife Came to court to support him. Why wasn't any of the defendants ex-boyfriends or ex-husband there to support her? In fact, a couple of her man friends were almost subpoenaed to testify on behalf of the DA. why you ask? Because it was a known fact that the defendant attacked them on several occasions. Even the wife of one of her ex-man friend was more than willing to testify to that. However, it wasn't necessary to bring that forward. The evidence was clear. The victims support from past relationships speaks volumes!!! Another thing, why didn't family members testify? Maybe, they too had something to hide? Such as an aunt who shot her husband several years ago? Or a mother with a 170 page criminal background? The fact is, you can scream wolf all day, butt unless there is proof, nobody is buying
it! Now, another whole question. If you have a car, a gun and such a supporting family and friend base, then why didn't she leave? Because an abuser WON'T leave. They have to stalk, control and rage until either the spouse hides or kills them. With that said, the victim WAS leaving and the defendant WASN'T! hemm

  141. IN MY opinion Pam Gray Taylor is an evil self loving person. I don't see any reason for her to get a new trial, but if she does I would bet she is charged with FIRST DEGREE..I think the person that has all that information about Pam being abused should have been at the first trial...wait...i bet you were and i bet you weren't able to speak. Mike had support on top of support and if all the supporters could have taken that stand it would still be going on. Pam....hmmm she had one person out of 12 that didn't give her first degree...does she really want to try again? I think she needs to take the grace she has been shown and accept what the judge hands down.. I pray with all my interbeing it its the max!!!!!!!!! I see his two younger children suffering and suffering...I guess that poster doesn't take those two in to consideration. I know Mike paid his child support and would have been at every event had Pam not been the package deal. I know Dianne did every thing for Britt all her life!!!! I know Dianne had Britt more than Pam during her younger years. Now Mike was human like us all, maybe he threw a golf club or a controller to a game, but he wasn't a woman beater. I will sign my name I have nothing to hide..I support Mike's justice until Pam is in a jail cell never to see the light of day.

  142. Where was this person who knew Pam "very well" during the trial? The only people who testified were people she worked with (4-10 years before the murder), basketball mom and dads or people who lived 500 miles away! NOT one close friend! Not one family member. If you knew all this and saw pictures then where was all this "evidence" during the trial? Fact is, this person is a liar just like Pamela Gray. Go back to your delusional world of "me me me" or "Pam's world" or "your world" and keep your "lies" to yourself. I think it is disgraceful for someone to yell DV and use it as a motive to murder when its not happening!

  145. She also said she tried to do cpr how could you possibly do cpr with a person shot in the heart it would just make the blood pump out that much faster plus there was no blood on her persons nor on her clothes. Her 911 tape on the morning she killed him was a joke . Instead of just saying I shot my husband in the chest she started out by saying my husband attacked me yesterday morning and again today and I shot him in the chest. I would think the first thing you would say to the 911 operator is I shot my husband please send help. She started planing this in Oct. My son told me when he married her and I begged him not to because she was the same evil person she had always been and that she knew how to act to get her way andhe told me he thought she had changed and if it didn't work out at least he could give Brittany a stable home until she graduated he did this and it got him murdered.Brittany was already in the process of moving when Michael started moving.I wake up at night sweating praying that the dream I had was just a nigtmare but then reality sets in. My life will never be the same. Most days I can't even get off the couch I am on medicine but it doesn't seem to help much. My kids were my life and I miss them so much it is like there is no purpose in my life.Iam thankful for my grandchildren and my two wonderful daughter in laws who are more like my daughters.I use to see on the news about people being murdered and it never really hit me how much hell there families were going thru but believe me I know now. There was a policeman in the courtroom sitting in front of usI believe his name was Officer Garey and they started showing the crime scene pictures and I lowered my head and closed my eyes and he reached back and took my hand he never said a word but I will never forget his kindness I had not been aware that they were going to show the pictures again. The DA's Missy Branham and Bo Summers were wonderful and Amy our advocate was great explaining everything to us.There was a bayliff by the name of Mr Yancey and he was very kind even though he told us several times we could not talk in the courtroom he had a job to do and did it well.My husband has been by my side the entire time he loved my children and tries so hard to do anything that will bring me just a little happiness. I know I am blessed to have a strong loving family. Diane Welch

  151. For the person said Brittany lost both parents they are wrong if she choses she will still be able to visit her mother talk to her mother write letters and keep her mother in her life if that is what she choses. On the other hand all we have to visit is a headstone with Michaels name on it at a cemetery we can talk to him but he can't answer. We will never get to spend another holdiay or birthday with him. Never get to hear his wonderful laughter. So you see she really only lost one parent due to her mothers jealousy but I don't need to tell Brittany anything she always knew exactly what her mother was. It was Brittany that toldme that everytime Mike left the room Pam went through his phone. It was Brittany who told me how jealous and obsessive her mother was of her dad of how she wouldn't even go to work because she was scared Mike would go somewhere. It was Brittany who told me she could not wait to move to get away from her mother. So no Brittany lost a father but she still has her mother if she so choses. Diane Welch

Someday people will look at women that are just evil and murder there spouses the same way they look at a man. I know that a lot of women are really abused and the ones that just use it as an excuse should be judged very harsly. Men and children are also victims of domestic violence and the perptrators should all be treated the same. 157. In response to the anonymous post of Dec 15th where she stated that she doesn't beleive that it was premeditated and that Pamela was abused. Just because you saw Pam at a bunch of basketball games lord knows how long ago, doesn't mean you know Pam! Most of us have had children that were involved in all sorts of activities that we have attended, and we all know everyone puts on their best face for all the other parents. Just because Michael didn't sit with all of you snobs doesn't mean a thing! So Michael threw a golf club and broke a few xbox controlers the clubs and the controllers were his! He didn't hit Pam with them. Find me anybody that says Michael ever hit anyone! Where were these so called pictures of abuse? HUH? It would have a damn good time to present them at the trial, don't you think? How could you look at the pictures of the crime scene of Michael laying on the floor DEAD shot twice, and tell me he is the violent one! Pam is lucky she didn't get but 21 years instead of the 51 she so richly deserved. Alot of us wanted to testify too, and wasn't allowed, only things that were directly related to the murder were allowed. Judge Skahan did an excellent job and the trial was fair. We all feel for Britt, no one deserves to be put in such a position, but Pam put her in it NOT Michael! So get off your HIGH HORSE Lady! Cathy Elam

  159. I don't understand how all of you can post so many lies and be so hurtful. Mike and Pam truly loved each other. If his mother had left him alone and quit causing so many problems they would still be together today. His mother knew how to set him off and make him mad at Pam just like she did when he was with Wendy and how she caused trouble with Jason and Michelle. She is the one that needs to take the blame for both of her boys being gone. She just couldn't leave them alone and let them live their lives.

If you say Pam loved Michael, then I hope to God someone "loves" you as much as Pam "loved" him, and we can see how you feel about it then. Oh wait, you'll be dead. Any trouble between ANY marriage no matter who is the cause DOES NOT RESULT IN DEATH. My dad, MICHAEL'S dad, has been married three times and no one ended up dead. Just divorced. Besides, Jason's marriage had NOTHING to do with his death. And the only way that Michael's relates is the fact that his WIFE SHOT AND KILLED HIM. Go one somewhere with your lies. And no one is being "hurtful." PLEASE tell me why you think we care if we hurt Pam's feelings? I sure hope someone lets her read all this and her feelings DO get hurt. Whoever you are, since you don't have the balls to post your name, you can leave and stay where ever you came from. If you are on a mission to hurt Diane, that makes you a pretty sorry person considering everything that she has been throught. You have any comments to make about my dad as well? 162. hoever wrote the post trying to hurt me( there mother)I know how much my kids loved me unlike Pam and her mother who were estranged for several years until Pam murdered my son.Brittany was at my house so many times crying because of the things Pam had done or said to her.I mean how many parents would try and have there kid supeoned to court to make a impact statement for her when the child did not want to.The problem Michael had was pam was her jealousy, lies, obsessive ways and the fact that she could not hold a full time job just one thru an agency.Michael never loved Pam he loved Brittany and wanted to see her have a stable home until she graduated from high school. He was so tired of seeing her get her house foreclosed on then getting evicted then moving in with Pams grandmother then Pam getting into a fight with her mother and when they had nowhere to go .There are two things I am so sure of one being that my kids loved me very much and the other is that Ihope Pam and her mother suffer the torment that she has caused me,Do you know Wendy and Michelle if so maybe you should talk to them and get the correct information. Once again I can tell you for sure that Michael never loved Pam he told me that many times and believe me he either called me everyday or came over everyday. Diane Welch

  165. This is to the anonymous person that wrote these horrible things on January 28 in this blog. I am not sure why you think that you can speak for me because you obviously don’t know me but I am going to set the record straight. I have known and been involved in Diane’s life for 20 years now. She is a wonderful mother and grandmother. Diane never once caused any trouble for Jason and I. Just the opposite, she always wanted us to be together and was there when we needed her. She was and is involved in our lives because we want her there. She is my mother in law and always will be and I will always love her. I wouldn't have stood by her side all these years and at the trial if she was such a horrible mother. I am part of this family and never been made to feel any differently. She is a wonderful grandmother and my son loves her dearly. Jason called her every day and we went over there frequently because he knew she was always there for him no matter what. The one thing I do know for sure is Jason loved his mother. For you to say that she is to blame for both of her children being gone, is pure evil and you will have to answer for these lies one day. Pam has caused so much pain for taking the life of a wonderful, caring man. Pam took the man that my son cherished, the man that my son loved and was the reminder of his own father. The only person that is to blame for the death of Michael is Pam! She is the one who bought the gun and she is the one who shot him twice. So maybe instead of blaming Diane for the death of her beloved son, you should look at the facts and the evidence that was given and see that Pam is the cold hearted killer. Michelle Taylor

  166. Who ever posted the evil things, about my sister on the 28th, must be either Pam's mom, or Pam's aunt that is the only people that would say such a horroble thing. Jay and Mike were my sisters life, all she wanted for them was to be happy, Wendy and Michelle made them happy, but living in the stressful world we do they did have marital issue, but that don't mean that they didn't love them, they were together many time after they were divorce. My sister would never cause problems for her sons, because of the love she has for them, and they either called or went to her house every single day. Now does that sound like a mom who had problems with her sons. I don't think so. So stop writing shit u know nothing about, and don't be scare to put your name by what u write, that's what this blog if for so people can write what they feel and sign their name at the end. Pam is a cold hearted, evil killer, she would kill anyone to get what she wanted, and she did. So man up/women up and sign ur name, if u have the courage to write it, then have the courage to put ur name beside it. Patricia Jefferies

  170. I have thought alot about the person that wrote the blog defending Pam on December 15. I can understand that you are a friend of hers and want to defend her. I have known her since she was 15. At one time I did love Pam but I never let my guard down because she could be very vindictive to anyone that got in the way of something she wanted. Apparently you were not in the room when the crime scene pictures were shown but maybe you should have stayed and watched the entire trial and then made up your mind. One shot thru the heart kills someone and the one thru the back of the head what was that for. If you have children I guess before you can know my pain you will have to have a policman knock on your door to tell you your child had been murdered or hear it on the tv as I did. I did not interefere in my childrens life ever I was always there if they needed me I certainly did not want Michael to marry her and I did voice my opinion to that she had done so many evil things to him that I did not want him to be tormented anymore. He thought it would be great if he and Pam could make the marriage work so for once in many years Brittany could have a stable home. Make no mistake Britt was at our house and with Michael much of the time. She is a very loved child and I know that since Michaels murder her life has been hard as well as the two smaller children.Michael was trying to walk away from this marriage. He worked at the apartment that he lived at and was an excellent employee according to fogelman. Just because Pam went to Britts ballgames does not make her a good mother I am not saying she was a bad mother but Pam is a very controlling person. The best thing you could have done was sit thru the entire trial and heard all the testimonhy and then made up your mind. I would love for them to have presented any pictures they had into testimony . My son would never hit a woman and he had three daughters and a step daughter and he never even spanked one of them and seldom raised his voice to them. His step daughter Audrey has only good memories of Michael and that is unusal for a step child.Michaels family never ask Britt to choose sides to us there was no sides just he unjustified murder of my son. All Michael wanted to do was leave Pam and she was not going to let him do that. So I do understand that you are trying to defend your friend but you should get all the facts. There must have been some reason there was no people sitting on her side of the courtroom until the day of the sentencing maybe she did not want her friends to see the crime scene pictures or here the testimony. All Pam had to do was let Michael walk out the door she and everyone else knew he was leaving her and none of this would be going on,. She would not be going to jail for 21 years Britt would not be sad because her dad is dead and her mother will be in prison and Cass and aLainey would still have there dad that they loved so much. Wency would have there father here to help with the children. My heart would not be broken because I have to visit Michael at the cemetery. Pam made the choice that day and she made the wrong choice. Yet you never gave one thought to executing my son and leaving me a broken woman. I have known you since you were 15 and we both know that you killed him because he was leaving you you had chased him for so many years you were not going to let him walk away. Brittany is my grandchild and I love her more than life itself. Can't imagine how you keep this trial going to cause her more pain and grief.Brittany always has a home to come to she is loved by so many espicially her sisters, granny and Wendy numerous cousins on her Dads side that would do anything for her. She still shows no remorse I am wondering if the state is paying her lawyer since she said she is indigent and how much longer this will go on and why she hasn't been given a public defender instead of a private lawyer if she is indigent. I can honestly say I hate her and wish only that her and her family have to endure the pain and torment that we have had to endure on a daily basis.I miss you so much MIchael. mom

  176. What about the pain and torment you are putting Brittamy through with your lies

  177. Believe me if anyone knew how evil her mother was it was Brittany. She spent weeks over here trying to get into college= her mother had it so screwed up. I can remember when Pam would make Britt sit in a dark house for days because Pam didn't want to go anywhere. Believe me I know Pam as well as anyone could have have had to deal with her for years. She was pregnant when she got out of hight school and had been dating Michael and a guy name Randy but she told Michael Brittany was his and he believed her when they went to court for a paternity test Michael told the judge he knew Britt was his and did not want to put her through a blood test But everytime Pam was mad at Mike and he would not do what she wanted she threatened to tell Britt Randy was her dad. Believe me Britt may have lied but she know the real truth about her mother and my son. Diane Welch

  178. And I ask you what kind of mother has her lawyer supeona her daughter to make a statement at the sentencig hearing when Brittany did not want to. Fortunately for her since she did not want to she did not have to. I hope she enjoys her new car she bought with the insurance money from Michael just hope she doesn't forget her mother put a bullet through Michaels head and heart.we ask her to trade the red car in or sell it so we wouldnt have to finsh paying for it but she left it on the side of the road and we picked it up. I realize we have a court date on May 31 and am praying this will end whatever happens we will always be ready for the next phase to support our wonderful son and father Michaeland see that justice is served. I beleive Gods justice is much faster and swifter than what Pam has gotten so far. Diane Welch

  179. Sometimes the anger and hatred within me is so strong from losing my son to a senseless murder that I may say things I don't really mean but at the time they make perfect sense to me. The pain in my heart is so strong and nothing makes it go away and I do know that other people have to deal with the same thing I am dealing with and it breaks my heart all over again.I really don't understand why some people have acted the way they have. I know that I am going to have to find a way to come to terms with all this hate I have bottled up inside of me. I just feel so alone without my kids. I just don't understand why she did not just let him leave that day she did not have to kill him he just wanted a divorce. Diane

  180. I can see how anger can linger. Michael's death was so senseless. Having to constantly attend hearings and wait for rulings can't help either. God be with you Diane.

  181. Next court date is next Thursday it has been 10 months she was sentenced and yet she is still at the penal farm andwe are still going to court hopefully he will deny her at the next hearing. I know there will probably be appeals but at least this part of it is over. The justice system just gets immune to the pain the families of the victims are going thru or maybe they have just become so immune to there job that the pain they have to see on a daily basis doesn't phase them.My concern is still her lawyer is the mayors son and you have to wondner how much pull he can have. Do not think I can go on if they do not sent her to Nashville for the 21 years. Diane

  182. We went to court today because her lawyer filed a motion for a new trial and it was denied. So she will be going to the penetentiary for the next 21 years. It does not bring my son back who I love and miss so much but it does bring some closure. Prentis Penn Thank you so much for all your Support Diane Welch

  184. I was locked up with Pam Taylor for 6 months.....I can tell u this much just by being stuck around her that long...she's a very evil evil person. Jealousy wow....I can only imagine how she acted toward her husband BC she is psychotic over the "gays" in jail east. She was so jealous of me she went beyond herself to Have me moved because of my looks......I can assure u she was never indigent and claimed.that whomever visited her on Tuesdays in the multi purpose room at jail east (with no cameras) she said that they had a sexual relationship ....and he. Visited her for sexual favors ...
she's very sneaky and vendictive ....I've never dislike someone I never knew so much........she don't care about noone but herself...they (the guards) kept her safe I'm so glad shes in the penetentry so she can get what she deserves and I promise she will she has pissed so many people women off there's.plenty women waiting on her lol at the prison.....to mikes mother I'm so sorry and hurt for you I hate you had to go through somethhing.like this but I assure you she prolly wont make it out of jai alive....sorry for the typos ......this story touched my heart so much I was in tears usually I'd never write but I want the.world to know how evil she is.....and I feel sorry for.poor Brittany BC Pam don't give a damn about her feelings and self being trying to make that poor innocent girl.make.a.statement what kind of mother does that......... 185. Anonymous June 29, 2013 at 1:08,

Thank you Laura for the insight into Pam as she serves her sentence. I imagine your post will perk up Diane (Michael's mother) since you saw the evil in Pam she has talked about. So sad that Michael was married to such a person And I have a hard time called her a person. More like sewage. I, too, feel for her daughter. Maybe when she comes up for parole (if she doesn't anger others so much they attempt to take her life and she lives till then)the parole board will not allow her parole due to her evilness while in prison. Sooner or later she will create a problem there and I don't see her as the type to say yes I killed him on purpose.

  189. What a shame that one very vindictive evil person has caused so much pain to so many. It does my heart good to know she is in TPFW and pray that everyday her life is hell. The thing that keeps me alive is so I will be here the day she is released from prison if she ever is.Laura Gipson was a great judge of character. Ever since I have known Pam she was 15 she has always been vindictive and evil. She never got along with her own family except her aunt. What a shame that this evil person did not care what it would do to her daughter if she murdered her father. Brittany knew how evil and vindictive her mother was she told me so often. It is so hard to believe that a women that just murdered her husband was taking trips to Florida with her boyfriend when she was not suppose to leave the state. In fact what kind of man would date a woman that just killed her husband??Guess one that was desperate for a woman. She certainly knocked the life out of me but I am getting stronger so I can be here when she is released from prison. After serving 21 years and having a felony on her record she will never get a job Her mother will be very old as will I when she is released. Where will she go will Brittany take care of her I don't believe she will. I do not know if Brittany is seeing Pam but that is her business not mine. I know that I go to the cemetery very often to visit my kids and make sure their gravesites look good . Brittany does have some ways like her dad she does not like drama and confrontation. she hates argueing and she has lots of friends and has not one jealous bone in her body the complete opposite of what her mother is.Brittany told me that her aunt Donna shot her ex husband in the foot and spend several years in the mental hospital I do not know if this is true just what Brittany told me. My son was very good friends with her uncle Tony he was a very good guy and he never came to court to support her. What a shame she ruined so many lifes including her own. I will be here in 21 years when she is released just to let her know I survived what she did and I know that for 21 years she lived a life of hell. Even her good friend Randy did not show up for her trial even though he said he was going to give her a job he never did and she said that is because she owed him money and he wanted it paid back before he started paying her sounds fair to me the funny thing is he does logging work.I pray everynight her life is a living hell. My son should still be here he was a wonderful man and had so many friends and was loved by so many.He had so much more to give to this world and 3 children that needed him.Diane Michaels Mom
